It is undoubtedly one of the cheapest places you can go to for a very cheap buffet; this is especially the case if you sign up to their players card (it does not cost anything and you can do it on the post by going to casino marketing, just a few steps away from the buffet entrance). Locals often have further ‘perks’ and, in the end, they can easily eat for a couple of dollars!

But, if you are not a local, you can still eat here for a handful of change. Will you enjoy it and will forever be thankful for these extraordinary Las Vegas value-for-money deals? Let’s see.

Gold Coast Buffet Review. It used to be a favorite of local seniors with the forever favourites, such as good pea soup, basic clam chowder soup and a 3rd or even 4th soup (it changes), together with the quintessential pasta (which does not taste anything like real Italian pasta) and pizza (the quality – or lack thereof – varies according to who’s making it), Mexican and Chinese sections.

Nowadays I hardly see seniors and I’d say the target market is whomever has a free comp (which are given away easily and generously – it’s almost impossible having to pay for this buffet). Some locals for sure.

They have improved somewhat with offerings (on a good day) like tuna melt sandwich and decent Sushi (better than at other cheap buffets without a doubt). The salad bar is getting marginally better, with some artichokes (on a good day) and olives; bring your own olive oil if you care, we do!… Talking about salads, a few months ago they added, next to a new, tiny deli section, a ready-made bowl of Caesars salad, which was nice enough and better than the very low-end salad bar they usually offer; however, during our last 2 visits, these changes were no longer present and – in fact – the food was overall worse than usual (in our opinion). Families and visitors of course do come, mainly enticed by the very low prices of this Vegas buffet and, above all, by the many ‘free buffet’ promotions they receive (designed to entice customers to their casino); we often ask around (we want to make sure it’s not just us being ‘fussy’) and nobody has told us they really like this buffet. The dessert section is also average for Vegas buffets in this price range (everything tastes as if it was purchased at a cheap store). However, on our last trip they had added gelato (!) and 2 more options at the soft-self-serve ice-cream section (such as coconut). So, on a ‘good day’ (namely when whoever serves or heats up the dishes actually remembers it’s a restaurant and not an industrial assembly line), you can walk out satisfied. But with the Palms buffet across the road, unless it’s free there is still no reason to eat here, I think.

At dinner they have 3 types of decent-tasting sushi (but basic, most likely pre-bought) and – thankfully – a made-to-order Mongolian grill section with a good teriyaky sauce. Sometimes we only eat those 2 items.

Gold Coast Buffet Review Summary and Hot Tip. In brief, if you like good food, well prepared and cooked food, this is NOT the Vegas buffet for you. On a good day you will feel happy you ate here rather than at a junk food joint for the same price, but on a bad day you will struggle to find something to eat. Unfortunately there is still no consistency. But if you want a cheap buffet, a quick meal to fill your belly, this is a place you could visit, although it’s now been superseded by the much better Palms buffet at a similarly fantastic price. Palms is across the road and – for a similar price – it offers much, much better food; when we don’t have to review anything, we go to Palms to eat.

Gold Coast Buffet Review Special Menus: they offer ‘special menus’ for specific days (or usually nights) of the week, though they change often so we’d recommend you double check by calling them:

1 – the 7-Steaks @ 7 -Action Stations bonanza on Thursdays from 4pm (for just about 13 dollars with a B Connected players card and 2 dollars more without a card)

ITALIAN: Steak Pizza New York Sirloin
AMERICAN: Rib Eye Cooked to Order
THE GRILL: Top Sirloin with sautéed mushrooms and onions
SEAFOOD: Beef Oscar Filet
CHINESE: Teriyaki Steak
MONGOLIAN: Spicy Mongolian Steak Sirloin
MEXICAN: Carne Asada Flank Steak

2 – and the ‘All You Can Eat Prime Rib Dinner Buffet every Mondays and Wednesdays (4pm to 9pm), for only about 12 dollars with a B Connected Players card 2 dollars more without the card)

In our opinion, it all sounds better than it actually is. Prime rib night was the worst, in our opinion, because anything else was inedible, sadly.

It is not worth wasting a lot of money (in our opinion) gambling to get to the higher players level for only the pittance discounts of an already super cheap buffet.

I concur with all these complaints, I too had a nightmare experience with this hotel and casino, they said they issued a refund September 3rd, but still no refund has come in. I will hold my review for now, and give them the benefit of doubt they will send refund.

This letter is being submitted to you as a formal complaint against Gold Country Casino & Hotel.
My husband and I moved to CA from Oregon a couple of months ago. After settling in, we decided to treat ourselves out to a special dinner/evening at Gold Country. We reserved a room (reservation #[redacted]) for Friday, August 7th. We checked in, had a nice dinner at the buffet, played a poker tournament…a nice evening until we decided to play cash poker.
Two young, intoxicated men were using a lot of profanity, disrespecting me (I was the only woman at the table), repeatedly. I asked the dealer many times to stop it. He would not. He was laughing with two men (they were friendly to each other). After 40-45 minutes if verbal abuse, my husband and I decided to complain to the poker manager. He fought us on the issue, instead of stopping the abusive men. [redacted] was the last name of the dealer or manager. My husband and I left the poker room very upset. I was shaking. No one in a position of authority would make these drunk men stop their attacks.
We went to the hotel, asked to speak to the manager; [redacted] introduced himself as the manager. We explained the upsetting situation to home and told him we didn’t feel safe there. Mr. [redacted] said he didn’t have the authority to comp or reimburse us for the room. This upset me more, because we didn’t even enter the room once. He said he would talk to the manager the next morning and “[redacted]” (I assumed day manager) would make sure we wouldn’t be charged for the room. He said [redacted] would call us.
I made several; calls to speak to the manager; to no avail. We never heard from [redacted] by 1pm, I finally reached a person who would address the issue. Her name was [redacted]. She said she couldn’t reverse the charge for the room.
I then received a rude phone call form [redacted], identifying herself as Director of Gaming. She said the upsetting issue my husband and I were describing –Never happened. She spoke with the involved dealer and manager and they denied the incident ever took place. She added it was a gaming issue, not hotel issue. And now Im being called a Liar. My husband and I both complained about the problem and the Director of Gaming calls us both liars.
After this rude lady dismissed me, my husband called [redacted] 2x (the night manager) and asked him to call us. Of course, he did not even return the call. On August 9th, after being ignored by Mr. [redacted], my husband left a message for [redacted], General Manager. As of this moment, 7pm Aug. 10, we’ve get to receive a call from Mr. [redacted] or Mr. [redacted].
We are very upset at 1) the verbal abuse; 2) the fact that the dealer wouldn’t stop it; 3) the poker manager fought us on the issue; 4) the night manager said that he didn’t have the authority to comp or room (Director of Gaming told us that he that absolute power to do so); 5) night manager misrepresentated the fact that he could comp our room ;6) Day manager never called us; 7) [redacted] wouldn’t return my husband’s calls; 8)general Manager wouldn’t return our call.
This is our first trip to Gold Country Casino and Hotel. It was a terribly upsetting event, then we were lied to then no one will even returns a call. And Director of Gaming called my husband and me liars. I am not surprised the dealer and poker manager denied the event-they should have handled the profanity and verbal abuse. Shame on them!
It saddens me a woman, that Gold Country Casino and Hotel would have endorse verbal abuse, disrespect to a woman and profanity. I hope the Honorable Tribal Council will look into the shameful behavior.
I hope Revdex.com will look into the matter. My husband and I would like the charges for the room ($129) credited to our card. We were so mistreated, we couldn’t even stay in the hotel.
